Welcome everyone, to the very first blog post for Vivid Grace Coaching. I've worked with hundreds of individuals over my time as a Counselor and Direct Support Specialist. As much as "people" can be the worst and drive you crazy, seeing others step into a life that is marked by lived out desires and realized dreams is a passion of mine.
I believe that everyone is born with a dream - a vision. We're all born with that something that stirs us to action and makes our souls sing. We toil, we sweat, we face disappointment, we rise above challenges, we get knocked down, and we do our best to stand back up, brandishing a defiant glare and bold fists. We live in a time where to dream is frowned upon. We look at hope as a myth only found in dated fairy tales and works of fiction. We've lost our way and so many have accepted the lie that there is no way back.
Life can be cruel. It sometimes feels like it knows when we're finally starting to get our footing and then comes in, walloping us behind the knee or jabbing us in the gut. For many, the slightest presence of risk or the shadow of failure repels us from pursuing what makes our hearts sing the way a rotten egg clears the room. We hear about others "achieving success" and "actualizing their goals" and either dismiss them as a fool's dream or, desperate, we claw after the latest gimmick promising what we so deeply long for.
Vivid Grace is not a gimmick. I don't use magical stones and confer with the stars to know your thoughts. I ask you. I offer a safe and welcoming space where you can voice the things that keep you up at night. I take a step back and let you play around with the images in your mind and the cries of your heart and watch as you pursue those wondrous achievements with a glimmer in your eye. In coaching, it's not about me. It's about you.
As a Life Coach, I operate less as a guide and more as a mirror. I reflect back on what you've said, sometimes even what you haven't said. I pay attention for those subtle shifts in expression or changes in tone. I help you connect the dots that are often there, but we're too busy searching for them we can't find them. I don't have all the answers. In fact, as a Life Coach I'm not supposed to. I'm there to help you collect what you know and be intentional in your efforts to direct it towards your envisioned future. In coaching it's more of a partnership, the two of us walking side by side.
This blog is an extension of all those efforts. Most of these will be the scripts I use for the podcast I operate. I understand the value in being able to review something visual. To find that word or phrase that leapt out from the screen or share it with someone else. And that's what I'm here to do. I'm not here to promote what I know, I'm here to offer what I know. I'm here to share the wisdom that life and faith has taught me. I'm here to help others step into a life that is fulfilled, balanced, and authentic.
